Ministry of Assets at Atonement

Matthew 25:21 His master said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.”

We are called to care for the property and goods which God, our Father, has entrusted to us. As members of Atonement we have a responsibility to maintain and improve our building and grounds, so that we are able to support ongoing ministries and provide for future needs.

Serve as chairperson for asset ministry:

  • supervise janitorial services
  • direct cleanup days
  • see to building and systems maintenance
  • assist in evaluating future requirements for building and grounds

Care for our Church building:

  • Assist our part-time janitor by
    • returning supplies and materials to their proper places
    • placing trash in proper receptacles
    • wiping down tables and counters as necessary after use
    • sweeping, vacuuming or mopping as needed after using a room
    • reporting needed repairs to asset ministry chairperson, janitor or office personnel

Participate in cleanup days:

  • do major cleaning tasks twice a year such as:
    • carpet cleaning
    • window washing
    • oven and stove cleaning
    • polishing woodwork
    • painting

Care for our grounds:

  • mow the church lawn
  • water, fertilize and tend grass, trees, flowers, and shrubs
  • maintain playground equipment
  • clean up trash from grounds, parking lot, and playground
